From the middle of the twentieth century onwards, the vision and perception on the Douro Valley potential for non-fortified wines started to evolve. Gradually a carefully chosen selection of vines, grapes and winemaking methods was implemented leading to the production of the magnificent wines from this unique and dramatic region.
