Sandeman has had an enduring relationship with the art world, starting in 1910 when the family invested in paintings.
Between 1910 and 1926 Sandeman bought several paintings by some of the best-known artists of the day. Some of these paintings were used later in poster advertising.
In 1926, Sandeman introduced to the public two fictional characters, known as The Partners, and a series of press advertisements drawn by Septimus Scott appeared in both British and National press.
More recently Sandeman associated themselves with artists like the famous photographer Satoshi and promoted events within the art world, awarding prizes to the best paintings associated with Sandeman and its cocktails. The Sandeman Splash Cocktail is an excellent example of this association.
